IKM International Krav Maga - Gabi Noah

In 1964, when Imi left the army, he began teaching Krav Maga to civilians in military uniform. He later adopted the judo kimono and the belt system. For many years, Krav Maga ranged from white belt to black belt. In 1987, a new grading system replaced the belts. The levels then ranged from Practitioner 1 to Expert 5.

The kimono was abandoned, and Krav Maga training was then done in T-shirts, loose pants, and sneakers (outdoor training was done in street clothes). It was during this period that several instructors, including Imi himself, stopped wearing the belt.

In the mid-1990s, as the system spread around the world, the technical manual evolved and expanded, and badges and rank symbols were introduced. The new rank system was much more in line with the logic of Krav Maga and its origins: teaching within the Israeli army.

Graduate

Expert

Master

(P1 to P5)

Each of these levels contains 5 grades , with a specific program and knowledge for each grade. To access a higher grade, the student must retake all the previous grades. For example, a person who wishes to obtain the grade of Practitioner 3 must pass the exam including the contents of the grades of Practitioner 1, 2… and finally 3.
This methodology allows you to consolidate your knowledge and strengthen your mastery of basic techniques.
